Largest Dealership Installs Pro Spot Overhead Welding System

Penske-owned Longo Toyota, the largest dealership in the world (selling over 2,000 cars per month), just opened a brand new state-of-the-art collision center. The 76,000 sq.ft. shop must be one of the finest and best equipped body shop ever assembled. The shop is air conditioned with dropped ceilings with an outstanding attention to detail and perfection. The ceiling mounted welding system consists
of 3 different Overhead installations totaling over 560’ (190m).
8 Resistance spot welding heads are servicing over 40 working stalls. The longest run is 312’ (100m) long. The welding heads on the yellow bridges can be easily moved from one end to another always connected electrically by a busbar system that runs along the blue runways. |

This systems covers two stalls deep (40’ wide). A third rail has been added to support the extra wide bridges. |

The PRO SPOT welding heads are all water cooled and are suspended from the ceiling. They easily move up and down on a counter balance system. The PR-10 welding head produces over 10,000 A at the electrodes. A 50% duty cycle promises continuing welding without over heating! |
